MA set and costume design project for ‘Far Away’ by Caryl Churchill, located in the Royal Court Theatre.

‘Far Away’ encourages introspection on human nature, especially in the face of violence. Churchill embeds an insidious, escalating anxiety into her script which is mirrored in this set design through themes of environmental destruction. Taking inspiration from the light and space artists, the design explores the inherent anxiety of a glowing light, or sun, growing brighter and hotter until it engulfs you.
